History:
Designed in response to the Volksjager competition the He 162 was based on Heinkels
P.1073, which explains why it only took about 90 days from drawing board to
the first flight on the 6/12/44, with the first mission being on the 26/4/1945,
the He 162 managed two "Kills" in it's brief service career. Around
310 aircraft were made by May 1945, with another 500 partly completed. A number
of different engines were tried with the He 162 they were:-
