History:Competing with the Mig I-250, the I-107(Su 5) was powered by the same mixed engine lay out with the piston engine driving the compressor for the Khalshchevnikov jet booster. Two prototypes were made the first taking off for the first time in the spring of 1945. Both aeroplanes flew until mid June when it was canceled, because a pure jet only design would have better all round performance.
